@U_Stormcrow I’d love to know if you think this will work.

Quail chick starter, total protein 28%.

1 part flax 13% protein
3 parts peas 26% protein
1 part polenta 7.5% protein
1 part quinoa 13.8% protein
1 part buckwheat 9.6% protein
1 part chia 19% protein
1 part corn 9.4% protein
1 part millet 11% protein
1 part amaranth 14% protein
1 part teff 9.6% protein
2 parts soya flakes 41% protein
1 part sunflower seeds 15% protein
1 part mealworms 53% protein
2 parts black soldier fly 41% protein
3 parts cannabis seeds 32% protein
3 parts crickets 58% protein

Quail breeder mash, total protein 22%.

2 parts flax 13% protein
2 parts peas 26% protein
2 parts polenta 7.5% protein
3 parts quinoa 13.8% protein
2 parts buckwheat 9.6% protein
1 part chia 19% protein
1 part corn 9.4% protein
3 parts millet 11% protein
3 parts amaranth 14% protein
3 parts teff 9.6% protein
1 part soya flakes 41% protein
3 parts sunflower seeds 15% protein
1 part mealworms 53% protein
2 parts black soldier fly 41% protein
3 parts cannabis seeds 32% protein
3 parts crickets 58% protein

I’m expecting to need to add oyster shell and seaweed for calcium and methionine but not sure how much.
Meridian yeast extract, raw honey, kefir grains, garlic and oregano will also be added in small amounts.

This weekend, I'll see what I can work up. Rumor has it, there will be rain. Maybe this will incentivize me to start rebuilding the calculator with more data, and to correct for moisture content automatically.

Very much appreciated, Thankyou :). I’m excited to see the results.

and I didn't get this done - apart from a brief screed elsewhere, I was too busy working on the hobby farm this weekend. This was a "hobby that feels like work" weekend, put in some long hours.
Ah well, no worries.. I’m a little way off ordering eggs anyway so no quail will be inadequately fed while you attend to your duties.
Just noticed this..

‘Sounds good. I'll see you there this weekend. and indicate what kind of seaweed you intend to use - there's considerable variety. Dried, I assume?’

I was planning on collecting a variety of different types from a clean beach in north Wales and drying it. Could you recommend a particular variety or better alternative?

@U_Stormcrow hi :). Hope you’re making progress on the farm, I’m nearing the point of ordering eggs now and just wondering what your thoughts would be on allowing them to self select the foods they want? If the ingredients were ground separately and put in individual compartments of a long feeder, would they do a better job of finding the right nutritional balance than me imposing a specific ratio?

Another one for adding to your data base might be dubia roaches, I’m attempting to breed them but it may take a while, the profile seems good.

Also I realised that polenta is just corn flour so removed it from the list and replaced it with 1 part blue poppy seeds at 18% protein which meant removing one part of soya and 2 parts peas from the starter giving me a total of 28% and 22.2% for the breeders mash after replacing 2 parts polenta with 1 part poppy and adding 1 part corn and 1 part buckwheat.
