Goose nesting

I have embdens that are going on a year old now. It looks like one of them might be building a nesting site. I know they usually arent ready to breed until 2 years old but is it possible that for them to breed this early?

Absolutely.
Fertility and broodiness can be iffy with yearlings but they do lay and they need to build an appropriate place to do that.

Mine have all started laying their first year, though I don’t truly consider them adults until they’re two year olds, it’s around then that they are fully grown.

Alright. A couple of my ganders have been dragging the girls to the pond and surfing on them so I figured they were all thinking about being ready to breed.

Follow up question: my geese refuse to use any shelter I give them, or destroy it quickly, should I just let them nest where they want to or try to move them somewhere under shelter?
