HELP! Mom tried to kill newborn what do i do?

we caught the mom trying to kill the newly hatched chick. We rescued the chick and I have it under heat with a little bit of food and water but I have no idea what to do. The chick is chirping nonstop, and is about four hours old. does anyone have advice on how to care for a single baby newborn chick?

Does the hen have any more eggs due to hatch? How was she attacking the chick?

I know this post is months old but for future reference for anyone reading this, I just went out and bought 4 little chicks from TS, put them in with the single chick and they all lived happily ever after. The End.
