Help! One of my chicken’s beak is injured at the top (not the tip)

I noticed that one of my chickens’ beak had two pieces of feather quill stuck inside her beak and it is bruised and deformed. My husband helped me remove the quills and I see that the right side of her beak at the top (not the tip) is sticking out where it’s supposed to be attached to her skin. The left side of her beak is not injured but the right side is clearly sticking out. Is there anything I can do to fix this or help my chicken heal and recover from this injury? I don’t know how long she’s been injured but so far, she is still eating and laying eggs. Attached are photos. Thank you for your help.

If she's still eating and drinking fine then I wouldn't worry too much about it. You could apply some peroxide once just to make sure it doesn't get infected, but otherwise you'll probably just have to wait for it to heal on its own. One of my hens had that happen to her one time. That part of her beak never reatached to the rest of her beak, but it never caused her any problems.

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s good to know that one of your hens had the same issue but it did not cause her any problems.

Thank you! If or when it will eventually fall off, will she still be able to eat? It won’t grow back, right?
The top layer. There's still beak under there. It should harden up and the top layer will eventually come loose and fall away.
She should still be able to eat/drink. She may be a bit sore for a few days.

top layer looks like it will eventually fall off.

Thank you so much! The top layer did fall off and she continues to be able to eat and drink like normal. This is my first time raising chickens and I didn’t know that the chicken’s beak has a top layer and that there’s still a beak underneath. Amazing! Thanks again for your very helpful and informative reply. I am so relieved now and no longer worried about my chicken. :)
