Ordered all of them as presexed female one day old chicks. Have a feeling there’s a few roosters in the mix but they’ve got me stumped. Maybe a trained eye can help. My EE’s and faverolles were a breeze to sex; these two breeds, not so much.

The gold laced Wyandottes are 11 weeks today and came from Meyer hatchery. #6 and 7 had slower feather growth and rather stumpy tails. They all hate me (jk) but really, overall not a friendly bunch. I can pet two of them but that’s about it (and they aren’t thrilled when I do but tolerate it.)

The silver laced Wyandotte’s will be 9 weeks as of tomorrow (7/20) and came from Hoover hatchery. They all had great tail growth and relatively uniform feathering but two are a little more white and splotchy. It seems the silver laced Wyandottes grow slower, or are smaller birds than my GLW. They are all fairly friendly and curious.

I have a sideways confirmation shot and head shot of each and labeled as such. Thanks for any help I may receive!

Hmm, they're at that age where the ladies will start reddening too! And the small rosecombs makes it harder too. Honestly the one I'd think is most likely a rooster would be Silver Laced #4, but even then it could pop out an egg! These are very nice photos, thank you for being so thorough! :D

I surely hope that they are all pullets, but I would be foolish to hope to get that lucky (Even though I ordered that way). Wyandottes are proving really hard to sex! The red on all of the faces is not making it any easier.

6 and 7 of the GLW not only have slower developing tails but also quite a bit of beetle green showing in the black of their body coloring compared to others as well, but some of the ones I was sure of being girls are having a bit of their blacks turn a greenish tint. But, my EE pullets are flashy with purple-blacks and green blacks too so maybe this isn’t a good judgement character and I shouldn’t worry.

I suspect #6 of the SLW as maybe being a roo, but I guess time will tell. I will now be keeping watch on #4. That one is a clown so I’m hoping not. It’s curious and nosey and pretty friendly.

In two weeks I am offloading 10 of my 33 chickens (to a good home) so everything that has a band right now are my picks to keep, but I want to try and ensure they are all hens.

I have 2 EE roosters that I ADORE, and are sizing up to be lovely, beautiful and nice mannered boys, and I am keeping 21 hens for them. I don’t want to overload my gals.
