Hormonal Coponization?

So I've read in a couple places that in addition to the surgical method, there are some that caponize hormonally, with an implant. The surgical method seems unnecessarily brutal to me, as well as wasteful given that you almost always lose a few, but if it wasn't ridiculously expensive (and was safe) I think I'd like to try the hormonal method, as an experiment. Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks!

You used to be able to buy bovine hormones that you could feed or implant. Those are generally no longer available because the hormones were retained inthe meat and eaten by humans.
