How to Prevent Wasps?

Does anyone have any tips for trying to prevent wasps in my coop? (That don't have to deal with getting near any wasps?)

My coop has some permanent vents that wasps are able to come in and out of, and I've been seeing a lot of wasps around my coop. The main problem is that I'm absolutely TERRIFIED of wasps. I can't really control it. Anytime I hear buzzing that's too close to me I tend to run. I can't get close enough to them to kill them with a flyswatter like I normally do with other bugs.

I don't have chickens yet, but I want to try and stop a wasp problem before I have chickens in my coop.

Put some screen over your vents on the inside of your coop. That will keep the wasps out of the coop. I know of no sure fire way to keep them totally away.

Screens sound good and try to keep their nests knocked down with a broom or rake. They are aggressive when there's a nest around.
