I am so pleased with what I did today...
I butchered 3 roosters. Did the whole thing, from head off to into the pan.
I've helped with butchering since I was 3 years old. That first time, Grandma had me help her butcher a rooster that attacked and scratched my face. Since then I've gotten good at all steps except the first one...the actual killing. That was always "Dad's job".
But since I'm on the opposite side of the world from my dad now, I got out the axe, tied their feet, swung'em around and chopped of their heads. Hah! I thought I would be squeamish about it, but it wasn't too bad.
