Light Brahma - Buff Orp Mix

Howdy folks,

A friend of ours gifted us two pullets, both are supposed to be Light Brahma and Buff Orpington mix, one pullet and one cockerel. The roo is white with the typical black/gray hackles. BUT, he does not show any feathering on his feet or legs. Is it common for this mix to not have feathered legs? Also, will he most likely be of the same adult size as an Orpington, or will he probably be larger like a Brahma? Both chicks appear to be very healthy and intelligent.

Thanks y'all,
Ken

It's possible to have a chick where one parent has feathered legs to end up with clean legs, but not too common. So it could be what your friend said is true. Size depends on a lot of factors, but it will probably be in between in size. Orpingtons are a pretty large breed so they will not be small birds if the stated cross is correct.
