Many of the reviews mention temperature spikes when using this incubator however it appears the reservoir gets the water steaming hot and the only way to lower the temp is lower the temp on the unit in small increments with the lid off.The temp remains stable when the reservoir isn't used.It'll be a miracle if this chicks hatches on its own with the humidity issues the reservoir caused.

I decided to open the shell and see why the chick didn't hatch when it was due 2 days ago. When I first started removing the shell it was breathing underneath the white membrane but when it stopped breathing I opened the white membrane and saw it was inside another layer connected to the egg yolk (not fully absorbed yet) It appeared to be premature and may have lived had I just left it alone sadly.
