Just remove the layer feed entirely for the time being while the chicks are growing.

You've run into one of the many reasons I've stopped using layer feed at all.

Instead I use all-flock feed (higher protein, normal calcium) with calcium (oyster shell/crushed egg shell) on the side. The layers will be attracted to the calcium, while cockerels, pre-layers, older hens, layers in winter will be far less attracted to the calcium. No worries about switching feed in winter, no problems with non-layers, etc.

While the chicks are small, you can get all-flock crumble. The adults will eat it as well.

Like TwoCheep said, the other adult chickens are just fine eating the all flock feed and can be fed that.
