my orlys are gone :(

With a heavy heart, I say goodbye to my Russian Orloffs. My last rooster Gordy died today. It seems like after I brought in the "new group", they
(those and mine) started dying off. No symptoms- just dead the next day.

I really wanted the breed, and it was fun while it lasted, but now they
are gone and I won't be replacing them.

Carol, I'm so sorry. I just saw an Orloff hen at the feedstore two days ago and thought of you.

why won't you replace them?

They are supposed to be a hardy breed, and I guess they were, up till now.
Of all the eggs I hatched, the orlys never made it to adulthood. The eggs were hard to get--they didn't lay real well. Maybe that is why they are so rare. They were sure pretty though!

I have enough "other" breeds to work on, mainly the Chanteclers.
