We've been given 9 Nankin chicks and a broody Nankin hen from a nice lady in our village (UK).
My 13 year old son is going to nurture them until spring next year (5 months) and he will be able to choose two hens from the hatch to keep and she will give us an unrelated cockerel to start a new flock.
We have four Rhode Island reds that we hatched last year so have some experience of chickens.

I've googled Nankins but it seems all the results come from the same source!
Anyone have first hand experience with Nankins?

I don't have any experience but when I googled it I got lots of stuff...

Yes that's the generic Google results, we've read them, it's mainly Wikipedia condensed results.

Curiosity has me going ... how are your Nannies doing? If you're still looking for information on Nankins, there is some on The Livestock Conservancy's website - www.livestockconservancy.org. They've been tracking rare and threatened breeds of livestock for years. According to their records, the Nankin recently moved from "Critically Endangered" to "Threatened." It's nice to know that their numbers are on the rise!
