What is the youngest age a chick will accept the nipple source?

If I'm not mistaken, some commercial operations only use nipple waterers so probably from day old. They'll peck at anything at eye level and red so they'll rapidly teach each other.

Last ones brooded weren't introduced until 6 wk.
I will try at day one, not even offer other options.
Will show them when receiving but don't know how much that helps.

I am trying them now, but it sure does not seem like the nipple is opening enough. The chicks are all pecking on them, but it is hard to see if any water is coming out. I am going to try them through the night, and hope they have it figured out so they do not die of thirst under the heat lamp.

Make sure the heat lamp is off to one end so they have a cooler space they can go to. I just heat one spot, just like a mother hen does.
