I have an O shamo rooster that I found in my yard as a tiny injured chic that fit in my hand (check my other posts for more info). He’s now 5 to 6 months old and molting, is this normal?

I think it is normal enough that you do not need to worry.

Chicks molt quite a few times as they grow up.
Adult chickens usually molt once a year, in the fall.

At age 5-6 months, he could be doing either one: the last chick molt (if he's slow to mature) or an adult molt (if he matured quickly, and now his body is reacting to the shorter days by doing a fall molt. Many spring-hatched chicks do not molt that first fall, but some do, and it's not always easy to predict which ones will.)
