In 2023 I decided I would not subject any day-old chicks to shipping. Instead I decided to hatch some eggs.

I ended up with a combination of shipped eggs from Carolina Rare Chicks (English Orpingtons) and eggs from my own flock (Lavender Orpington Roo over Lavender/Blue/Buff/Chocolate Orpington hens and Bielefelder hens.

28 beautiful chicks hatched and are thriving.
