We bought a pair this last winter. They were first year, so no screaming this last spring. I guess he will this spring! Otherwise, they are quiet and don't cause much trouble for us. I was really surprised the first time I heard the peahen honk. I had never heard the sound before and it is quite comical!
We kept them in the pen for the first year, but the roof blew off the house and they flew out. I have not tried to catch them since - they roost in the trees. They are not super skittish, but somewhat wary. All my birds are because I just enjoy them, not really pet them or anything.
Depending on what your expectations are, they seem like enjoyable birds to me! They are interesting to watch. I also enjoy making weird noises sometimes so I can hear the "honk".
Oh, and Susan, if that guy needs to get rid of another pair, I am sure I can make room for them! LOL!!!
