probably a dumb question but wanted to make sure my chicks are safe .. we are under a boil advisory for water and I wanted to make sure that it’s safe for chickens to have purified water

Yep. Chickens can have purified water.

We have to purify all of our water too.

By all means provide bottled water for them until your water advisory is over.

The only "dumb question" is the one that you think is too dumb to ask and end up messing something up because you didn't know ... and were afraid to ask!

Along the same lines of drinking water, is food.
Don’t feed them anything thats “past” , spoiled or moldy.
If you wouldn’t eat, it don’t feed it to them.
