Quail laid a mondo egg!

Got us a GIGANTIC coturnix quail egg today.
I'm pretty sure this came from one of my older girls who is still only like 6 months. Left to right, the first egg is from our aptly named hen Tiny.

So:
Tiny - 8 grams
Average egg: 11 grams
Jumbo egg: 14 grams
The Behemoth: 22 grams

We've had one huge ruined egg before, pictured in some other post, which was an egg within an egg, so we candled this to see if it was doubled up, and nope, regular egg but big.
Gotta be at least a double yolker. I checked the girls and everyone was fine, but I can't imagine that felt great

They do like variety. There’s a 4.9 and a 22.9 in the pic Both from experienced layers. My record is 28.3, but that’s from a jumbo quail, so your hen is probably walking funny.

We sure are! We have a batch 7 days in, so as soon as that's done this goes in with a couple for company ^_^
