Hi I'm thinking about hatching quail next year, I have a few questions

Do they lay lots of eggs?
Are the males aggressive?
What kind of housing do they need?

Yeah they lay eggs pretty much everyday in the right conditions.
Some males are but some aren’t it depends on their bloodline.
They could pretty much use anything the just need at least 1 square foot per bird and safe from predators.

No problem, I heard that they don't like being patted is that true? What's the best breed for laying?

My quail are pretty tame they are coturnix though and they lay better then chickens thats for sure mine are in long flight cages i used to use for my budgies

Thank you so much. Do they need heat when they are adults? I know they don't roost so what should I have inside the coop.

It depends on what type of quail. If you're talking about just about any quail except buttons, they don't need heat. They just need to be dry, out of the wind, and if they're on wire, a place to get off of it so they can keep their feet warm.

Provide small shelters for them. They can be just about anything. Flower pots on their sides, cardboard boxes turned upside down with a couple entrances cut into them, baskets, etc.
