In the Brooder
I acquired a new young buck and he promptly got into a tiff with my older gentleman. Looks like little Blackie sustained a shoulder injury (two bite scabs underneath his fur) and it's swollen and tender.
No signs of puss or infection (no smell), and beneath the skin it feels like a semi-soft, but rigid, gelatinous blob about 1" in diameter. Blackie winces a little when I palpated the lump, but no screaming or trying to bolt away, which to me says its tender but not terribly painful. He runs and eats and drinks just fine. Still going after the ladies, so he's not THAT hurt!
Anyone have diy suggestions for potential infection treatment? Like, does Tractor Supply have an injectable antibiotic or ingestable/chewable that I could give Blackie to help his healing? We have no rabbit-savvy vets in the area, so I'm on my own.
Thanks in advance for the tips!
