Silkie sexing?

I know they can be really tricky. These are my 4 silkies, and they’re between 8 and 10 weeks old. I’d also love to know what colour they each are, or if they’re just unofficial mixed colours.

Marshmallow - the oldest, at 10 weeks. White, obviously. I don’t think I see any sign of comb development?


Cookie - about 9 weeks. Is this what “splash” looks like?



Cocoa - About 8 weeks. Is this black, or blue?



Toffee - about 8 weeks, and very uncooperative. Definitely seems the least developed of the silkies, though they were larger than Cocoa when I brought them home.

So far there’s nothing screaming cockerel, but cookie does have a lot of color for the age so I would watch that one. As for colors, I think white, splash, black and maybe partridge?.

Blue vs black is hard for me to see in pictures, but my blue silkie has very very light feathers if you just move her top fluff to the side a bit and in sunshine she looks very blue so I think yours could be either. But this pic makes me think black. Attaching photo of my blue so you can see what I mean.

I was thinking that as well. He’s the only one with any visible pink around the comb area at all (I think you can see it in the photo a bit)
