Hi I have 5 Silver Laced Wyandottes, all 16 weeks old. 2 of them have brighter red/distinct combs and waddles. One of them in particular is very red. Thoughts on whether the ones in the back and middle of the picture are male or female?
They're all pullets. Wyandotte females can get big, red combs early. At this age it means they are getting ready to start laying within a few weeks, I'd guess.
The only one I questioned is the one in the back, the comb looks bigger than what my Wyandotte had even at time of laying, but I’ve only had one so far (2 more growing up now!) so am a novice. Mine did not have the little pronounced nub at the back like yours in the back of the pic appears to have.
That being said, probably you’d have some obvious male feathering going by now so it’s likely a pullet.
