I am new to incubating and have my incubator going with turkey eggs inside. Every where i read says the temp should be 99.5°f but my incubator its typically at around 100.5. Will this cause the eggs to be too hot and to die or is it a safe if i reduce the heat it ends up bring 88ish ish so i have to choose between 88ish or the 100.(2-5).

Edit: I also had a question about candling. When i candled the eggs before puting them in the incubator 3 had veins. This suprised me because according to the person i bought them from they were only 3 days old. I still put them in the incubator but i haven't been able to find any information on why this would happen other than the eggs being older than what i was told and being stored in a warm condition. Any information would be great. I can add pic of thw candled eggs if needed.

99.5°F is for forced air incubators. Still air incubators need to be higher and measured at the top of the eggs,

Do you have a calibrated thermometer that you are using to double check the temperature?

Inexpensive incubators are notorious about how difficult it can be to adjust the temperature.

I do have a seperate thermometer/hygrometer to measure humidity and temp because my incubators are way off. I attached some pics of my incubators so you have an idea of my set up.

This is one the eggs. I recandled them and one had significantly changes and i put them in the incubator on 4/22. The vein is now very clear to see where as befor i couldnt pick it up on camera. but idk if this is good or bad. The others you can't see a vein in the camera only in person.
