Also you could look on Craigslist or at the hardware store for some of that barbed wire that some lumber yards put on the top of the fence to keep thiefs out. If a raccoon gets caught up in it he probably wont be back again because he will be so badly scared. I dont think it that expensive and you might even be able to hook up an electrifier to the barbed wire to hurt the predators twice-once by barbed wire -and the second time by electrifying him.
