I was aware of that, and tried to tell my husband. But he has his own ideas. Shame on me, I should have gone to the butcher with them to help unload. FWIW, the white pig ended up in only our freezer, so our friends and family didn't get the worst of it. I haven't sampled any of his meat yet, though. LOL if hubby complains, I can tell him, "I told you so!"As others have said, put a bucket over the pig's head. It is very very important that animals not be stressed just before slaughter. If they are frightened and upset, they release adrenalin, and that negatively affects the quality of the meat.
