Turkey hatched with whole yolk attached

Yikes. Tylan is great, it should help raise the odds significantly, especially that it was started so soon. Hopefully the little one pulls through!

Turkey hatched with whole yolk attached

Sounds like a possible yolk infection. Just had a chick hatch this week with a very similar situation, but the yolk was misshapen and had burst, and the green slime was probably from infection. Day 2 after hatch the abdomen was swollen 3-4 times it's normal size and sickly green in spite of...

What Are They? Mystery "Game" Chicks

Straight comb, dark grey/slate legs. I guess possible green tinting since #1's photos look greenish, but really not seeing it in person. So, dark grey, with possible greenish tint hiding, but if so much less obvious than my Easter Eggers. The red #2 has much lighter grey legs than the lighter #1...

What Are They? Mystery "Game" Chicks

Thank you! You are confirming my suspicion. Any idea what the coloration might be on them? Or is it just a mix color too? Never had cockerels with such mixed colors before, I have to admit they've piqued my curiosity.

What Are They? Mystery "Game" Chicks

Got these boys as "Game" chicks locally. Unable to find anything like them with Google, so I'm coming to the experts! What are these boys? I live in rural Florida. "Game" cockerel 1

    What is He?

This boy came from a farm of mainly Game birds. Any idea what he is or what he'll look like when he's older? Got a red breasted pullet and a red pyle cockerel from the same clutch, the broody/possible mom is a the brown and red hen in the background. Told she was a game hen.

    Nervous- Early Hatch

JaeG So did my hen, that's why I was worried. I guess they know what they're doing though. All 3 eggs hatched healthy babies in spite of the roller ride. Crazy!

    Nervous- Early Hatch

I'm going to assume not since we now have 2 healthy babies and the 3rd is pipping. She moved the hatching eggs a good foot from where they started. Why would eggs under a broody hatch out so early? It's only day 18/19, and I marked the eggs and put them under her so I know exactly when...

    Nervous- Early Hatch

Probably a stupid question. It's day 19 for the eggs under our broody hen. 1 has already hatched and dried, another has pipped and is chirping, and I've no idea on the third. Mamma hen keeps repositioning the eggs. Is this bad? We're leaving them alone and watching from a distance, but we...

Unable to find air cells, detached cells and speckled eggs.

The speckles are from porous shells. Not very good quality hatching eggs from what you are describing.

    cockerel? with a rooster?

With only 4 hens you have 4 options. 1- A second batchelor coop for both roosters kept separate from the hens. 2- Atempt to integrate him into the flock, potentially over mating and stressing then hens or injuring them, and risking serious fighting (and injuries) over the hens. 3- Rehome one...

    Newest feather baby cross!

I was under the impression that only a female quail under a rooster would produce viable offspring, but you've done it in reverse? That's pretty cool!

One month old chicks and 2 weeks old chicks...can I combine? Will Mom allow it?

You could always try it when you have a chance to supervise closely. Any signs of her not liking the newcomers and I'd remove them immediately. Chasing, nipping, feather pulling, and pecking would all be good criteria for removal. If you have a wire crate or pen that you could place in the...
