I have 35 black New Jersey Giants and as of this writing are just over a year old.
They are proficient layers and lay mostly large eggs with a few extra large.
They are slow growing and are huge eaters.
Mine are a little nervous and react to any noise in the coop.
They are not the broodiest chickens but I’ve had several go broody and have got chicks.
The one big NJG rooster is 12-14 pounds but isn’t aggressive toward me or the other two roosters.
Good birds and it’s fun to watch people who know chickens, to marvel at their size.
