I am a new chicken mama and looking for ideas to improve the coop I've built for my chicks before I move them out there. Your article was so detailed, with so many clear pictures, and gave me so many good ideas. Thanks!

Lots of detailed pictures and detailed written explanation. I can't think of anything more that could have been included. They even gave a link to the original plans they used as a starting point - and cute pics of the residents of the new coop.

A pretty easy to build, cheap to make chicken tractor that seems to be very useful for transitioning pullets or keeping meat birds. I thought the idea of taking parts of an old manual lawn mower to use as the wheels and handle was brilliant. The written directions were a little light but if you studied the pictures, it all seemed to make sense. to me.

I thought this was very well written. I liked that much of the material was reused. I also liked that rough costs and needed supplies were included. Problems were discussed, including the solutions. Great coop plans.

Adorable chicken coop with a whimsical roofline. Having said that, there are lots of good pictures of the building but not enough information to walk someone through the process of making a replica. Someone very handy might be able to figure it out but I expect only someone very knowledgeable could get the job done.

It looks like a very good design, especially with the run extension. I had a little trouble following the directions. For example, all of a sudden there was a floor installed, without any explanation on how to do that. If you are handy with building, I'm sure it would be easy but for me, it would have left me challenged. Also, more pictures of details would have helped, like seeing a close up of the inside of the nesting boxes. Having said that, I expect I could give these directions to my husband and he could figure it all out with ease.
