Baytown Texas Chicken Ordinance

Baytown Texas Chicken Ordinance was changed by City Council in Aug of 2020, outlawing roosters, limiting folks to 6 or less hens, and doubling the setback restriction from 100’ from neighbors homes to “200’ from a residential structure”, rendering backyard chickens in the City of Baytown illegal in all but name. I contacted the City Attorney and Health Dept and got it in writing from them that I’m grandfathered in under the old law, but unless you’re sitting on a 1 acre square lot or more I don’t see how you’d be able to start up having chickens in the backyard with those 200’ setback requirements.
