Describe 'Cafe La Coop' here

We tried to take what we liked about other coops and make them our own.

Here is how we started.
The pedestal is 1' off the ground with a 4'x5' floor. We added linoleum for easy clean up. We added it here because there were many articles about it pulling up so we tacked it down and built up around it. We have not had any corners pull up as of yet. It has been 6 weeks.

Framed in walls and added vents. There was only my husband and I building it with our children so we had to brace it with the boards to help hold it together as we went. We put the tarp up for shade it was a very hot weekend. High 90's This took 3 days to build but that was just a couple hours each night. with our Kids underfoot.

We had to frame in the Laying Boxes, they are 1 1/2' Boxes We bedded them with Shavings. For warmth and comfort.

We were not sure how to add the boxes but after a little alterations we figured it out.

What we are most happy about is the window we added. We added a brace to hold it but we also lined up the perch So when it was open it would lay right on it as an extension to the perch. We covered it in Linoleum for an easy clean Poop Board. Our birds love sitting up there watching out the window. We really love this feature and feel the chicks do as well.

as you can see the window is on the left with a latch and the perch is in the rear, We covered the Perch as well with linoleum for easy clean up it is a 1x2. The Brace is a shelving brace that we picked up from the hardware store for $1.18

When the window is down in place you can see it is a nice ledge... this is 2'x3' window.

Well not much else to show so here is the finished product.

We used sand for the floor for easy cleaning, Love this... we use a kitty litter scoop to clean it out. and it only takes a minute. We go out every morning Clean it with the scoop, clean the water dish, feed them then we let them out to play! We let them run through the garden, play with the kids and just have a good time! Truly our favorite part of the day!!!

These are our baby birds (2 weeks old) we called them... Red (red riding hood She is top center in photo), Bob (for bob Marley we love music here, the bird on the right) Casper (Casper the friendly chicken, the white one on the bottom center) and Nugget (the one on the left with the spot on her head)

Our backyard... (we didn't do a good job of matching the paint but it looks good) Garage is on the left our Huge Garden in the middle and the coop on the right. Yes there was a rainbow when taking the photo Awesome. The Chickens can run threw the garden and play in the back yard. We are in the city so they can only come out when we are out there with them. But they are out for many hours a day.

Our family Loves our birds and they really are pets now...
