Tired of cleaning out your chick waterer and feeder? Don't want to set-up a nipple waterer in your brooder? Here is a simple solution to hang those cheap polyethylene founts and feeders.

Cut a ring of material that is a tight slip fit on the feeder bottle and include holes for a cord. Done! I cut these from 1/4" MDF. Many other materials would also work. I made them tight enough that they are difficult to get on but I don't have to worry about them slipping. For my feeders, a 89mm inner hole worked well. Alternatively, you could make them looser but add tape around the top of the bottle to keep them from slipping through, or a chunk of material on the inside of the bottle that gets pinched at the top to keep them on. I originally cut that extra chunk from the material that is removed from the center of the ring but they were plenty tight without it and didn't use it.
