Instead of buying a Chicken Coop from my local Feed Store I decide to build my own. I ended up making my Coop 8'x12' with a 3/12 pitched roof. I framed the entire Chicken Coop with 2x4s except for the floor joists which are pressure treated 2x6s. I made 8 nesting boxes that are 12"x12" and 2 nesting boxes that are 16"x16". In addition I insulated the Chicken Coop With R-13 insulation and painted the inside white to make it feel more homey. I ended up trimming the entire Chicken Coop with some Western Red Cedar and even finished the inside gables with cedar. The project took two weeks and so far the chickens and geese seem pleased. Total cost for everything was right around $1320.00.
