Just like an single x-ray gives you a year's worth of sunlight/UV exposure (supposedly), so my office was getting bombarded with years of dusting in only days. So in a mad rush, the family pulled together to get our coop built. We purchased build plans from April Wilkerson (search Youtube for the smaller of the two she built). We managed to pull off a soft-opening the day I left camping with my two older sons.

It's got a temp roof on it for now until the run is assemble since it will share a roof with the run. The coop inside is roughly 6' from floor to roof, sitting 2' off the ground. Windows front, back, and right side. Left side will have the door opening to the run. Back side has a large access hatch, and nesting box is still waiting on the last of the siding.

Still to Come:
- The walls for the run are already assembled. They just need the hardware cloth attached and to be built in place. Total footprint will be 9' x 20' with the coop taking up the front left 4' x 5' area.
- The roof will be a lean-to with 10' joists, 8' in the front, and 6' in the back. Should be something like a 12:2-1/2 pitch.
- Single gutter on the back will be filtered and collected into the water tank feeding a PVC waterer. Side by side to a PVC feeder system. Both with 5 gallon bins on the outside for easy refilling that run through to the inside. The back faces South and will get more sun to dry out the water and keep it from becoming mud.
- And of course finishing the trim work for the coop.
