Flock inventory as of now, including the birds in shipping to me. Pens refer to the number of coops/pens I need to build in the next 6 months to get them seperated out by breed by the time they are all beginning to lay.
The grow out area I built in the run next to the juvie coop. I have 41 eggs in the bator - my first hatch! And I have 25 chicks due in from Meyer at the same time as hatching should be going on, LOL!
The Crested Cream Legbars and Blue Isbars have claimed it for now.
Olivier the Lavender Americana and his true love Mae West the Blue Marans taking a bath together.
Tinkerbell the White Leghorn laid her first egg!
Drakey kisses every egg at least once before I can get them put away, LOL!
Time out pen made from an old bunk bed and baby gate.
My newest coop is a pallet/scrap coop built for the adults to get them out of the temp coop which is an XL kennel up on a work bench. Too many of the juvies have decided they are all grown up and moved themselves into the adult pen. They needed more room!
They have already gotten busy laying in the new coop. Their favorite laying box is actually a litter box :/ The love the shape, LOL!
Hot thirsty girls - it was 103 today.
Going to be building another coop on the other side of the car port and will use the old nesting boxed in there. It was in what became the juvie coop and they were just sleeping and pooping on it
The temp adult coop I just replaced.
Just cleaned the whole juvie coop out 2 days ago and already it is full of poop, LOL!
The babies hanging out with Riker the RIR roo.
