Middle of nowhere
Hi so I was wondering I have some all organic mite dust and th directions say to dust coops and set out for birds to dust themselves in it. But I was wondering if when the chickens rooster for the night if I could pit it on them derictly. Thanks

I would avoid any kind of organic solution as a treatment for an existing problem. I like DE and wood ash for preventatives, but if mites take hold it will rarely eradicate them. A permethrin dust is ideal.

Same thing with dusting. Leaving them to dust themselves in DE/wood ash is fine for prevention measures, but since they already have an infestation your should dust each bird individually to be sure it's dusted over their entire body.
