Hello!!!!
For YEARS I would Google Chicken questions & would Always see some replies from this group!
I spent a few hours today reading various posts from BYC & noticed that you DO welcome Canadians!
Time to join this great group & get more involved ~ I am so GLAD to be HERE!!!!

After MANY Years of me Begging for chickens, we moved to this small farm.
We started in 2000 with raising MEAT chickens.
Not my thing as Every bird becomes a PET with a NAME - LOL

I currently have a few different flocks.
~ main one is assorted Standard sized birds as well as 5 EE hens & Handsome EE roo (my avatar)
~ Partridge Silkies ( 4 hens & roo )
~ WHITE Showgirls & silkies
~ BLUE Showgirls & silkies

21 newly hatched chicks from my own flock

I have raised various chicken breeds as well as
Turkeys ( both Meat & Ridley Bronze )
Guineas
Indian Runners
Muscovies
Geese
Rabbits

My "One Day" WISH LIST is to have a trio of miniature GOATS!
( with names & daily cuddles - ha ha ha )

Hi and
welcome-byc.gif
- glad that you have joined us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you.

All the best

Sumi beat me to it - I was also going to mention the Canadian thread.

One of my favorite threads on BYC is ""Jest Another Day in Pear A Dice," authored by a great lady in Canada. I think you'd enjoy it. She often speaks of the weather extremes and has a style of writing(talking) that keeps her followers well entertained. She has llamas, geese, ducks, chickens, hair sheep, black swans etc. and two real characters - her Australian cattle dogs Lacey and Emmy.

Thank you ALL for the extra tips...I am enjoying my quest on BYC
It's a bit mind boggling how many members & past posts there is.
Great FUN exploring the "coops" & of course chick / chicken info.
Luv it here already!!!!
