Silkies crossed

I knows lots of people cross up there different colors of silkies.I was just wondering if they sold for less when selling them as chicks? I know lots of people let there burds range togather.I do know people that show keeps them pure.thanks

Typically pure varieties will be worth more than random crosses between whatever varieties are running together. Some varieties you can let range together- blue, black and splash are one example. This is because they will continue to yield blue, black and splash from that group. The silkie community especially is open to exciting and interesting colors, so you just never know, letting everything run together might give you the next hot variety in silkies.
