We have 2 sweet ducks that we need to find a new home for asap. They are male and female and appear to be mating. We would like them to stay together. They are very sweet and fun. Our kids chase them and hold them and they tolerate it well. They love their water. When it rains they get very excited. It's fun to watch them swim. The female is a Rouen duck and the male is some kind of hybrid. Our neighbor got him as a baby from the farm she was working at last summer. The Rouen was over a year old at that time and adopted the baby duck. They have been inseparable ever since. The reason we are finding them a new home is because of the quacking. Ducks like to do that. They are much louder than the chickens. Our neighbors have never complained and seem to love them. They will come and peek over the fence to watch them waddle about the yard. It is pretty cute. We just have a normal 1/4 acre yard. If we had a larger yard and could have them further away from the house, we would probably keep them. Our coop is next to our house. We could move it, but then it would be closer to our neighbors and so you see the problem. I'd like to avoid a pitchfork and torches scenario. We would like to find them a great home. They are great with kids, chickens, and our dog. They are very gentle. We will include the small pool we have for them to swim in, if you want it.
