We live about a 4 min walk away from a decent size pond, to start. In PA, very near Michuex Forest/Caledonia. We also have an above ground pool.
So, we've had 2 male ducks and 1 female the last few years; they all enjoy the pool, the female has laid eggs in our ivy previously. This year, she did under our HUGE bushes. We haven't seen the female recently, but the 2 males have still been in the pool. Yesterday, my gram noticed something attacked and killed the female/her eggs.
We think it was a racoon, but my question is- the males still hang out together constantly at the pool, is this normal for male ducks? Are they "mates" now? I don't know much about any of this lol and we're very curious

Ducks are 'flock' creatures and always like companions.
