Roost construction and location

This is my first time building a coop, it will house 6 chickens. It is 46x65, it's definitely on the smaller side. I constructed the roost frame so it will fold up, that should make it easier to clean under. My question is how high should they be and how close/ far away should they be from nesting box. I often to pics of bigger coops and they are nowhere near the nesting boxes. Just thought there is someone out there who has been there before. So far all the money I have in the coop is 12 for two boxes of screws, everything else is from pallets. Thanks, Jesse

My roost is about 12 inches above the ground and right next to the nesting boxes. Where they are in your coop seems fine.

just keep the roost off the top of the nesting area.
