Long, long story short I've been living here with ducks for about 3 years, and chickens for over a year. Recently (2 months ago) another renter's horses broke into my backyard (I live on a horse farm) from the paddock behind my yard and trashed it. This happened over and over again almost daily for over a month. I finally reacted by sending the landlord a note saying I was going to fix the fence myself (since no one else was taking responsibility for it) and take the costs including labor off the rent. I got no reply for a month, so I finally went and fixed it. Next I get a letter demanding that I remove all my birds (14 ducks, 25+ chickens) within 30 days, with no complaint or reason listed other than the birds aren't mentioned on the lease (the ducks were a verbal agreement and I just snuck the chickens in). I'm not about to get rid of my birds (other renters also have chickens and ducks, this is obviously a retaliation move) How do I legally tell him to go screw?
