What day are your quail hatching?

My coturnix quail are one the end of the 16th day and I'm getting nervous! I have read everywhere the 17th day but as early as the 14th and as late as the 21st. When do your babies hatch?

Be patient they'll hatch in a day or two.
Mine usually hatch in 17 and a half days

If you did a good job and dialed your incubator right you'll get most of what hatches on day 17-18. Beyond that the chicks that hatch usually have issues. They communicate in the shell pre hatch so they can organize the hatch time. You will get a few that hatch early then if you did well you'll get a big group to hatch all at once. Very few eggs will hatch after that big group finishes.

It can be tempting to help chicks hatch, don't. This is their first encounter with Darwin if they don't pass it there is usually a reason.

It's day 17 I have 100 eggs and about 20 or so have piped how long till They break

From my first pip it was 8 hours until the chicks started popping out.

when I went to work there was 2 pipped and when i got home there were 8 chicks...

Well they pipped at 1 last night and now it's been about 14 hours so I'm getting anxious! !!

It can take 30 hours from pip to hatch. Usually it's less than 24 though.

When can I start to take them out about 10 are out and keep getting in the way of the other eggs.
