A white silkie named Mirabella, a pekin/bantam cochin named Esmerelda, and a white crested blue polish named Lorka. The speckeled sussex's were named arabella and beatrix.

This is when I realized Lorka was going to need a boys name...

A white silkie named Mirabella, a pekin/bantam cochin named Esmerelda, and a white crested blue polish named Lorka. The speckeled sussex's were named arabella and beatrix.

After temps warmed up at night I moved the 5 little chicks out to their temporary pen. By this point I had determined the breeds of the 3 bantam chicks I got.

At this point it was still dropping below freezing outside and even with a heatlight I didn't feel it was safe for them to stay outside in those temps... long story short... they spent a week and a half in their box in my room. What was very cute for the first few days became a living nightmare of endless noise.

I was waiting at tractor supply on the first day of chick days for the little monkeys to come. I got 3 bantam and 2 speckled sessex.
