We will be setting 42 eggs from our mixed flock for hatching. We are hoping to be able to also utilize a broody hen or two for helping to hatch and raise the chicks. This is our first try at incubation and hatching. Follow along and enjoy.
04/09/15 - at 8:30 we set 42 eggs, we are incubating 14 eggs from a fellow BYC member - Percheron chick from the Colorado thread. The breakdown of what we are incubating is as follows:
12 - Amerecauna eggs from Percheron chick - Roo is a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana
2 - EE eggs from Percheron chick - BW Roo X Cream Brabanters
15 - EE X BO eggs from our flock
13 - Mixed brown egg layers X BO roo from our flock.
Broody update - nobody feel like sitting on eggs, they are too busy enjoying spring and gobbling everything green in sight and worms and bugs. We will see......
