Summer 2014. My sweet Pip, ruler of the roost in the "chick coop" had to move in with a new flock because we couldn't keep 2 roosters (said someone in the family;)) He's now the happy head honcho over a flock of 8 rhode island reds who have made his transition as easy as he could ever wish for:) In exchange, we got their boss hen Big Mama since she & Pip just weren't feelin' the love. She's now our top egg layer & social to boot:)
