The model I made in 2012 that is the inspiration for the Tudor style chick house for Silkies.
Pathway from the house to the chick house, barnyard, and barn.
Back side of the chick house and chick run. I let rye, oats, and grass grow up in the run between batches of chicks so there is plenty for new chicks to scratch around in.
Flower portion of the chick run.
Chick house to the far left and entire run. Flags, mylar streamers hanging from bamboo canes, and bird netting keep predator birds away.
Inside of the chick house. Plastic on windows on the North side keep the sprinkler from getting the interior wet. Can come off on hot days.
