Nice Brooder! I am so jealous, I use a large Rubbermaid box with some wire cloth connected to a wooden frame on top. Thanks for posting the pics and measurements.
Do you have a website where we can look at the book? I am from Hurlock, now I live in Howard Co. Md. This looks interesting. I have some other books that were given to me by family members about Dorchester Co.
Is the book hard cover or paperback?
Thanks
Amy
Does anyone know of a video out there on how to butcher a turkey? I have butchered turkeys before and it is not easy, so I was looking for something that I could watch that may make the job a little less of a struggle.
There is a video on You Tube called "Survival Skills with Russ - How to...
I have had Marek's go through my flock a couple of years ago. I only knew that it was because one of the hens that was affected was one of my daughter's favorites. It had trouble walking, flying and getting up on the the perch. We took the hen to our 4H vet and she had to euthanize her...

My turkeys aren't even supposed to be around right now, they did not make weight...
I have a coop that sits on the ground but has fencing attached to the bottom as flooring. I then put a 2" layer of pine shavings on top of the fencing, and that is where I keep my 4 turkeys. One of the hens just started laying eggs about 3 weeks ago.
Shortly after I noticed holes around the...
