My hen ( not sure of breed) is flavoring her right foot. Not walking on it, I picked her up but did not see anything.
Please help, she seems to be eating fine.
I have an Americana and she is a high strung bird. She and the Buff she shares a pen with have stick fleas and I had dusted her last week with seven dust.
yesterday my americana dropped an egg in the pen with no shell.
wandering if this is caused by stress?
Update- the two chickens with stick fleas are doing better. I have used Vaseline twice over the last two
weeks and it has helped a lot. The fleas have been heavy around the eyes and head. I have been spraying the pen every two weeks.
Thanks for helping.
I have done as suggested above. I have also put Vaseline on the fleas this past weekend. I will keep you posted. Please send any other advise on getting rid of the stick flea.
I believe you got on the reference to the stoplight flea. I have dipped the birds twice using a product suggested by the folks at tractor supply. I dipped 10 days apart. Any suggestions on if I need to treat the soil? Thanks so much
I hope someone can help because I had the same problem. My male bird just stood and stopped making noise. He showed no signs of sickness so I didn't know what to do. Iam sorry to say but he died two nights ago. Iam also desperate for an answer.
Good luck to you.
I have always gotten adult birds and they are usually afraid of us. They love to get out in the day and run and go in at night to roost. We love our birds
