Hey everyone. I hope all is well with each of you. I’m curious if anyone has experienced anything like what happened to me today.
I picked up one my ducks (2 y/o female Pekin, seemingly healthy) to clean some fluff out of her nostrils. She didn’t really enjoy being held, so she flapped her...
Hey everyone. I’ve not posted in a long time due to losing my beloved duck, Daisy. I hope everyone is well.
I currently have three full grown ducks and nine 2-month-old chickens (8 hens, 1 rooster). I’ve recently added them all together in the same coop, so the feed situation is getting hard to...
Hey everyone. It's been awhile since I posted an update and I apologize for that.
So, good news and bad news. The new medication worked somewhat, but not really enough. Daisy has two different types of bacteria in her foot that is causing all these problems. The one is staph, bumblefoot, and...
Hey everyone. Sorry for no update, I've been very busy.
Daisy was prescribed a new medicine, I believe called trimethoprim. She takes it twice a day for two weeks. Hopefully, this will kill out the bad bacteria and her infection will go away. If not, we may be looking at an amputation.
Please...
Hey everyone. Nothing new has happened, but I just wanted to let you all know that Daisy is still doing great. She's moving around a lot and is as active as ever!
We do have a small problem though.. her nose is partially clogged. She has a couple big chunks of dried mucus on either...
Hey everyone. Daisy went back to the vet today. Worries have started setting back in, but we're remaining hopeful.
The antibiotics aren't helping, so the vet sent off a culture (not really sure if that's the right way to say that, so please bear with me!) to see if they could find a new...
Just wanted to let everyone know that Daisy is doing great, her foot is draining like it should, and she has an appointment for Tuesday to have the drain removed. She's actually been standing on the bad foot a little bit!
She's definitely getting the "royal treatment" through this. She's been...
Guess who had a successful surgery and is now glad to be home? Yep, Daisy made it!
I worried myself sick until I got the call from the vet. I cried, I prayed, I was hateful with everyone, it was just awful, so I am VERY relieved, and oh so happy!
Now it's healing time. According to the...
She's actually having the surgery today. Sorry for not replying, I've been stressing pretty badly. I'm getting ready to drop her off, in about thirty minutes. I'm crossing my fingers, and I hope everything goes great. I'll keep you all posted. Again, thanks so much for being supportive!
